José R. Menéndez is a graphic designer, educator, and Assistant Professor in Graphic Design and Architecture at Northeastern University, with a background in marine science communication and landscape architecture.
A founding partner of Buena Gráfica Social Studio, his multidisciplinary practice, research, and teaching are closely intertwined. He investigates community engagement through environmental communication; designs placemaking and wayfinding narratives within public spaces; and highlights the rich history and contemporary voices of Latin American graphic design through GráficaLatina.com and the exhibition series Graphic Voices of Latin America, a digital and mobile poster archive and traveling show.
