Workshop: My First Font with Glyphs 4 with Rainer Scheichelbauer and Ana Michel

Go beyond your default fonts and create your own: welcome to this fast-paced, fun crash course in type design!

In this 5-hour class (breaks included), you’ll learn the basics of drawing a typeface, generating a font, and using it in an Adobe application or web browser. We’ll add more letters to the font, learn how to space them, and add diacritics and punctuation. We’ll also create a bold version, build a variable font, and animate it in a web browser.

By the end of the class, you won’t have a finished typeface, but you’ll have a solid start and a deeper understanding of how fonts are made. And you might just become addicted to type design. You’ve been warned.

No previous type design experience is required.

Requirements:
Bring your MacBook with Glyphs installed. Free trial licenses will be available.
